My wool comes from New Zealand as this is where the best sheep for rug wool are. It is a blend of the Romney cross fleece which has the correct structure for rug wool. It is custom spun to my specifications for the purpose of rug making by hand and hand tufting.
I dye my wool by hand in small batches, and I often achieve tonal variations which create a wonderful result when made into a rug. Natural dyes may vary according to the source of the plants. All colours may vary from what you see, due to different screens and filters. For all of these reasons it makes sense to order the wool for the entire rug in one purchase.
Care Instructions hand wash with a Ph neutral wool mix, such as Martha Gardeners’ Wool Mix.
The wool comes in two thicknesses:
REGULAR RUG WOOL - for use with the regular punch needle to make rugs.
FINE RUG WOOL - for use with the mini punch needle, or plied two strands together for use in the regular punch needle.
Wool will be shipped in 200 g skeins as it is more efficient for shipping.
